MOSCOW, June 11. /ITAR-TASS/. There are no plans to hold top-level talks between Russia and Ukraine now or any time soon, presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday, June 11, responding to a proposal from European Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger.
“Russia has not received any invitation to meetings or talks,” he said.
At the same time, he added that Russia would like to clarify what exactly the European commissioner had meant by suggesting such a format.
Oettinger said in Brussels earlier in the day that the gas issue would be discussed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. Until now all gas talks between the two countries have been conducted at the level of energy ministers.
