MOSCOW, June 09. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian mobile operator MegaFon has concluded over 150 contracts worth more than 90 million rubles ($2.6 million) with state entities in the country’s Far East and East Siberia to provide fixed-line and mobile connection services in 2014, MegaFon said in a press release Monday.

State contracts for fixed-line connection exceed 80 million rubles ($2.3 million), while the contracts for mobile connection are over 7 million rubles ($204 thousand) worth.

MegaFon’s clients comprise the customs, regional departments of the Federal Security Service and the Interior Ministry.

“The presence on the corporate market and in the state sector is one of the priority directions of our business… The availability of serious technological resources enables MegaFon to ensure a high-quality voice connection and secure transfer of huge volumes of data with a guaranteed speed in remote areas of the country’s Far East and East Siberia,” Viktoriya Savchenko, director of MegaFon’s corporate business development in the Far East, said, as cited in the statement.

Holding Garsdale, controlled by Alisher Usmanov’s USM Holdings, owns 50% plus 100 shares in MegaFon; Swedish-Finnish Company TeliaSonera owns 25.17% in the operator; MegaFon Investments Ltd., a Cyprus-registered 100%-owned unit of MegaFon, holds 7.57%. CEO Ivan Tavrin’s Anfimako Ltd. owns a 2.55% stake in the operator, while 14.75% of shares are in a free float.
