Russia’s MiG aircraft maker posts record earnings for 2013
MiG's sales had jumped by 68% in 2013 year on year to 30.3 billion rubles ($880 million)
MOSCOW, June 09. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s MiG Aircraft Corporation, the producer of MiG fighter jets, said on Monday its sales had jumped by 68% in 2013 year on year to 30.3 billion rubles ($880 million).
“its sales had jumped by 68% in 2013 year on year to 30.3 billion rubles ($880 million). Earnings per employee grew by 73% from 2012 to 3.1 million rubles ($90,000),” the MiG press office said, adding the corporation had posted record financial results last year.
MiG, which is part of Russia’s government-owned United Aircraft-Building Corporation, timely fulfilled the 2013 defense order and transferred the first batch of MiG-29K/KUB (Fulcrum-D) ship-borne fighter jets to the Russian Navy, the press office said.
“The plan of deliveries as part of military and technical cooperation with foreign countries was 120% fulfilled in 2013. The Indian Defense Ministry received ten modern combat planes. In 2013, MiG signed contracts worth 10 billion rubles ($290 million),” the MiG press office said.
The MiG Corporation invested about 1.6 billion rubles ($46 million) in production upgrade in 2013, or 50% more than in 2012, the MiG press office said.
