Deadline for Ukraine’s transfer on advance payment for gas supplies delayed until June 10
Ukraine’s total debt for Russian gas supplies makes $4,455 billion
MOSCOW, June 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian energy giant Gazprom has delayed a deadline for Naftogaz Ukrainy’s transfer on advance payment from June 9 to 10, Gazprom stated after a meeting between Gazprom CEO Aleksey Miller and Naftogaz Ukrainy counterpart Andrey Kobolev in the Russian capital on Wednesday.
“The deadline for settling payment problems is delayed until June 10 at Ukraine’s request as it is a day-off in Ukraine on June 9,” Gazprom stated.
Ukraine’s total debt for Russian gas supplies makes $4,455 billion, including $1,454 billion for November-December 2013 and $3 billion for April-May 2014.
Under the contract Gazprom decided over non-payments to transfer Naftogaz Ukrainy on prepayment from this June. On June 2, Naftogaz repaid the debt for the first quarter in 2014 transferring $786 million. In this regard, Ukraine’s shifting to advance payment was delayed until June 9 on that day.
