Ukraine pumps 12 billion cubic meters of gas into storages, wants 7 more

KIEV, June 03. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine has loaded 12 billion cubic meters of gas into its gas storages and has to buy 7 billion cubic meters more for the winter, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said Tuesday.

“This amount is not enough to live through the winter. We need to buy 7 billion cubic meters more of gas,” he said.

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said earlier that Ukraine needs to pump 12 billion cubic meters of gas to ensure uninterrupted gas supplies to Europe during the winter season, while Ukrainian authorities said, the country needs 15 billion cubic meters.
