Russia may spend 17 billion rubles on Crimea’s IT

MOSCOW, June 03./ITAR-TASS/. The Russian government may spend over 17 billion rubles by 2020 on the improvement of IT and communications in Crimea, which was annexed from Ukraine in March, business daily Vedomosti reported Tuesday.

The communications ministry may receive almost 17.50 billion rubles in 2015-2020 from the budget for the Crimean development. The Federal Communications Agency may receive 11.26 billion rubles, while the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media may get 410 million rubles.

The funding is stipulated by the most optimistic financing plan, elaborated by the Regional Development Ministry.

The Finance Ministry has not studied the Regional Development Ministry’s documents, but the mentioned sums raise questions, a finance ministry official told the daily.
