Central Bank of Russia shuts offices of nine Ukrainian banks in Crimea

MOSCOW, May 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s central bank has prohibited the offices of nine Ukrainian banks in Crimea to continue their operations. The banking authority said this in a statement on Monday.

The Central Bank has stopped the operations of Oschadbank, Marfin Bank, Ukraine’s UniCredit Bank affiliate earlier known as Ukrsotsbank, UkrSibbank, Delta Bank, CityCommerceBank, Forum Bank, Avtokrazbank and Platinum Bank.

Depositors will be compensated by recently established fund to protect rights of depositors in Crimea, the central bank said.
