Gazprom inks deal to buy 3 million tonnes of gas annually from Yamal LNG

ST. PETERSBURG, May 23. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian gas giant Gazprom has signed on Friday an agreement to annually buy 3 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) produced at the Yamal LNG plant over 20 years.

The contract signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum makes Gazprom the largest plant’s direct client with purchases accounting for 80% of its entire LNG output.

On Wednesday, largest private gas producer Novatek, which holds 60% in the Yamal LNG project, signed a contract to supply 3 million tonnes of LNG to China.
