MOSCOW, May 15. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Thursday that traditional energy resources would remain important for the world for a long time despite the ‘shale revolution’.

”The world is already feeling the impact of the ‘shale revolution’, which is taking place in the United States and many other countries. Nevertheless, traditional energy production methods will continue playing the key role on global markets,” Medvedev, who is attending the 14th ministerial meeting of the International Energy Forum, went on to say.

He believes that the current status quo will be preserved in a long-term perspective.
