Ukraine imports Russian gas for national needs only — minister

KIEV, April 23. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine’s national oil and gas company Naftogaz is currently importing around 40-60 million cubic meters of Russian gas per day, serving only national needs. Ukraine’s parliamentary-appointed minister of fuel and energy Yuriy Prodan said this on Wednesday.
Russian supplier Gazprom had been asked to lower the price to its previous $268.5 per 1,000 cubic meters, the minister said.
“We have shared our suggestions with Gazprom regarding pricing and have attached all the documentation needed, but we have not received an answer yet and cannot be sure about today’s price,” he added.
