BERLIN, April 18./ITAR-TASS/. The European Union should improve and maintain a dialogue with Russia, Germany’s top official has said.
The EU and Russia should work out a joint proposal for restoring Ukraine’s financial system, teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, the head of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) Economic Council, Kurt Lauk, said on Friday. “Russia is an important trade partner,” he added.
“Over the past 25 years Russia’s policy towards the EU and NATO enlargement has been very clear,” Lauk told DPA News Agency. However, Russia’s position on the events in Ukraine has been ignored, he said.
