ROSTOV-ON-DON, April 17. /ITAR-TASS/. Trade turnover between Russia and Ukraine has decreased by almost 20% since the beginning of the year, Russia’s Customs Service official said.

“Russia does not fuss about this. Doing business as usual is our priority,” Deputy Head of the Russian Customs Service Vladimir Malinin told ITAR-TASS on Thursday.

Supplies of vegetables and fruit, engineering products and construction materials have declined, he said.

No critical situations have been reported on the Russian-Ukrainian border, Malinin said.

The number of customs officers in Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol should not be reduced. At present, a total of 496 people work there, he said.

“The number of customs employees is being approved by the Russian Finance Ministry,” Malinin said.
