VK.com remains top social network in Russia — survey
Social network VK.com has a monthly audience of more than 52 million
MOSCOW, March 24. /ITAR-TASS/. VK.com remains Russia’s most popular social network, having a monthly audience of more than 52 million, as follows from a recent survey conducted by Russia’s largest Internet company, Mail.Ru Group, and based on the data provided by market research companies TNS, ComScore and Brand Analytics.
The survey has revealed that Russia’s social network service Odnoklassniki (Classmates) ranks second with a monthly audience of more than 42 million people, followed by social networking sites Moi Mir (My World) with a monthly audience of about 30 million people and Facebook with a monthly audience of 25.4 million people. The Russian audience of the popular social networking and microblogging service, Twitter, amounts to 11.6 million people per month.
According to the survey, about one-third of those using these social networks live in Russia’s Central Federal District. Internet users in Russia’s Southern and Siberian Federal Districts are more interested in Odnoklassniki, while users in Russia’s Northwestern District prefer VK.com and Twitter.
The survey has also found that almost a half of Odnoklassniki users live in small towns having a population of no more than 100,000. At the same time, about a third of Facebook and Twitter users live in big cities.
