BERLIN, March 19. /ITAR-TASS/. The situation in Ukraine would not negatively affect energy supplies from Russia to countries of the European Union, EU Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger told the German Die Welt newspaper on Wednesday.
The commissioner said the EU remained in constant touch with Russian enterprises, including Russia’s Gazprom gas giant.
“We are united in the opinion that the issue of gas deliveries and this political crisis are most likely not interrelated,” Oettinger said, adding that this gave him grounds to believe supplies of energy resources to EU countries would be guaranteed.
