Sherpa: Business climate, transparency, cyber safety, terrorism in G8 focus in 2014
DAVOS, January 24. /ITAR-TASS/. Business 20 (B20) 2014 would focus on business climate, transparent operation of governments and corporations, security and cyber-safety as well as private-public partnership in this field, Russia’s G8 Sherpa, executive vice-president of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Oleg Preksin told Itar-Tass.
The forum would also pay attention to business risks, including natural disasters and terrorism, he added.
“We need to ponder upon the development of private-public partnership to reduce these risks to the minimum,” Preksin believes. “The essential message of Russia’s G8 presidency, risk management for sustainable development in a safe world is also obviously essential for business,” the Sherpa said. B8 would also dwell upon G20 agenda, he added.
Speaking of the Davos Economic Forum’s role in forming the B8 agenda, Preksin noted the annual report on global risks released ahead of the forum. This year’s report highlights fiscal crises as the key risk in terms of their aftermath, while the risk of income inequality is considered the most probable one, thus retaining leadership on the risk ranking for the third consecutive year. Preksin is sure B8 will consider this rating one or another way.
According to the Sherpa, active agenda consultations with all B8 partners are now underway, some took place at the forum in Davos. Preparations are also in process for a business summit scheduled for the first half of April 2014.
