Uralkali cuts price for China by $95

MOSCOW, January 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Amid the market decline one of the leading producers of potassium chloride, the Russian Uralkali, has agreed to supply fertilizers to China at a price 24 percent below the one stipulated in the contract that expired in July, Bloomberg reports with a reference to the sector’s experts.
Under the deal, Uralkali will sell potassium chloride to China at $305 per tonne in the first six months of 2014, CRU International and Argus FMB Potash report without disclosing the volumes. Notably, analysts compare this price to $400, the price at which Uralkali sold the fertilizer via Belaruskali - its joint trader with Belarus.
Uralkali has declined to comment on the reports or confirm the information.
