Belarus confirms agreement to extradite Uralkali chief to Russia

Baumgertner had not appealed against this decision

MINSK, November 21. /ITAR-TASS/. The Belarusian prosecutor-general’s office has satisfied Russia’s request on extradition of Vladislav Baumgertner, CEO of Uralkali, Russian potash producer.

“The Belarusian prosecutor-general’s office decreed to satisfy a request of the Russian prosecutor-general’s office to extradite Baumgertner to Russia’s competent authorities to bring him to criminal responsibility,” a source at the Belarusian prosecutor-general’s office told Itar-Tass, adding that Baumgertner had not appealed against this decision.

The issue of extraditing the Uralkali chief has been resolved in compliance with the effective international agreement on extradition of the two countries’ citizens.
