LONDON, November 6. /TASS/. A tanker was shelled in the Strait of Hormuz near the coast of Oman, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported.

"UKMTO received a time-late report" about an incident occurred 16 nautical miles away from the city of Hasab in Oman. The tanker master reported an explosion near waterline on the port side of the ship. All the crewmembers are safe and the vessel continued its voyage, the UKMTO added. The incident occurred on November 5.
