Binance has reimbursed approximately 95% of stolen assets
The crypto exchange noted that holders of the top 10 major assets on the platform can personally verify that their balances are backed at least one-to-one
MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has reimbursed about 95% of the losses resulting from a hacker attack. The remaining 5% consist of less liquid assets, the platform reported.
"Binance has covered approximately 95% of the impacted amount. The outstanding 5% consists of tokens not included in the top ten listed above. These assets are less liquid, and take longer to source at the required scale. We continue working with industry partners to complete the remaining acquisitions," the statement said.
The crypto exchange noted that holders of the top 10 major assets on the platform (BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD, or ZEC) can personally verify that their balances are backed at least one-to-one.
On October 29, Binance announced that it had been the target of a hacker attack. Potential losses could have reached $6.3 bln. Users withdrew approximately $3.64 bln after the withdrawal function was restored, which had been temporarily disabled due to the attack.
