MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/. African countries have shown interest in Rosatom’s floating nuclear power plants (NPPs), Chief Executive Officer of Russia’s state corporation Alexey Likhachev said following the Russia-Africa forum in Moscow.
"Nine countries have shown significant interest in this technology (floating nuclear power plants - TASS). We are currently in substantive discussions regarding the implementation of projects in the interests of Egypt, Tanzania, Togo, and Namibia. Four more countries are in talks with us about the construction of high-capacity power plants. We are also working on specific proposals with Uganda and Ghana. In Ethiopia, we plan to start site survey works in the near future. In Egypt, we plan an expansion of the largest construction project of its kind globally, the El Dabaa NPP, from four to six high-capacity reactor units," he said.
