MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/. The volume of Russian wheat exports via Baltic Sea ports is expected to increase by a quarter to 3 mln tons, director general of the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies Dmitry Rylko told TASS.
"Wheat exports from Russian terminals via Baltic ports are growing, and there are signs of a slight increase in grain prices. We expect wheat exports in October to rise compared to the previous month to around 3 mln tons," he said, adding that exports in September totaled 2.4 mln tons.
A special task force to coordinate transport operations ensuring freight logistics was established by the Russian Transport Ministry earlier amid the tense situation in the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea exacerbated by drone attacks on maritime vessels. In particular, the governors of the Krasnodar and Rostov Regions have declared a state of emergency due to disruptions in maritime shipping and the suspension of port operations. According to official documents, the situation has led to a significant buildup of agricultural produce held by local farmers, creating a risk of substantial financial losses for agriculture enterprises.
