MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has met with Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba, Prime Minister of Tanzania, on the sidelines of the third Russia-Africa Summit to discuss cooperation prospects in energy, trade, finance, and banking, the Russian government announced.
"Tanzania has come a long way and is now rightfully considered an economic development leader in East Africa, which opens up new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation," Novak emphasized. "Russia is committed to further expanding political dialogue, parliamentary and interdepartmental exchanges, and deepening engagement in geological exploration, natural uranium extraction, energy, industry, transport, logistics, agriculture, tourism, finance, and investment."
Novak noted that Tanzania’s participation in the summit underscores the high level of bilateral relations and a shared interest in their continued development. The event creates new avenues for deepening Russia’s partnership with African nations, where Tanzania, as a key partner on the continent, can play a significant role, the government added.
