The master plans will outline and balance electricity demand and meet it using both local and transit-based energy sources, Sergey Tsivilyov said

MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Russia is offering African nations several interconnected avenues of energy cooperation, including the development of master plans and the establishment of hydrocarbon hubs, Russian Energy Minister of Sergey Tsivilyov told reporters at the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum.

"Given Africa's energy needs and growing population, we are proposing several interconnected areas for collaboration. The first involves developing specific strategic and tactical planning documents - master plans - that will outline and balance electricity demand and meet it using both local and transit-based energy sources," Tsivilyov said.

He identified the creation of hydrocarbon hubs as the second area of cooperation.

"To facilitate hydrocarbon imports, logistics infrastructure must be established within African nations to move these resources to end-users. This will run parallel to developing domestic hydrocarbon extraction based on Africa’s own resources," the minister explained.

TASS is an official media partner of the third Russia-Africa Summit and the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum.
