Russia ready to establish joint ventures with Africa for fertilizer packaging — RAPU
According to Andrey Guryev, head of the Russian Fertilizer Producers Association, Russian products are currently available in 25 African countries
MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Russia is ready to expand its fertilizer supply footprint in Africa, establish joint ventures for fertilizer packaging and bagging, and share expertise in raw material extraction and processing, announced Andrey Guryev, head of the Russian Fertilizer Producers Association (RAPU).
According to Guryev, Russian products are currently available in 25 African countries. "We are ready to discuss terms for mutually beneficial cooperation with companies from the remaining 30 nations," he stated at the Russia-Africa Forum.
"The second area of cooperation is the creation of fertilizer bagging and packaging enterprises. Currently, most of our products are shipped in bulk. Packaging them into consumer containers will enable retail distribution," Guryev added. The third avenue of cooperation is scientific and technical. "We are ready to share our experience in the extraction and processing of mineral raw materials with African producers," the RAPU head said.
He added that Russia also aims to help train qualified personnel for Africa’s agricultural sector.
