UralChem intends to supply at least 1 mln tons of fertilizers to Africa annually
The company plans to boost sales volume to 2 mln tons in the foreseeable future
MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. UralChem Group plans to supply at least 1 mln tons of fertilizers annually to African countries in the coming years, with the intention of eventually increasing shipments to 2 mln tons per year, the company told TASS.
"UralChem plans to supply at least 1 mln tons of fertilizers to Africa annually in the coming years. We plan to boost sales volume to 2 mln tons in the foreseeable future," the company said ahead of the Russia-Africa forum, adding that this can be achieved as effective distribution systems and logistics infrastructure are developed within the continent.
Uralchem ranks among the top five fertilizer suppliers to the African continent, having increased its sales from 100,000 tons in 2018 to around 1 million tons by 2025. Moreover, the company supplied about 135,000 tons of fertilizers to African nations free of charge between 2022 and 2024, while also covering the transportation costs associated with these humanitarian shipments.
