Blockade of Iran by US threatens stability of energy markets — Pezeshkian
US military intervention in the Persian Gulf region not only affects regional players but also disrupts the processes of energy pricing, supply, and transportation, thereby jeopardizing global economic growth, the president of the Islamic Republic said
MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. The naval and air blockade of Iran by the United States threatens the stability of energy markets, President of the Islamic Republic Masoud Pezeshkian said, adding that the world’s major energy suppliers should condemn Washington’s actions.
"The imposition of unilateral sanctions against countries and economic terrorism in the form of the maritime and air blockade of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the United States, as well as the pressure exerted on other nations to compel them to comply with this blockade, constitute further unlawful acts that seriously threaten the stability of energy markets. These actions must be condemned by the world’s major energy suppliers and effectively brought to an end," he said at the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) summit.
