Russia ready to share practical AI solutions with BRICS — digital development committee
According to the statement, the key task for the parliaments of BRICS countries is to establish the most favorable possible regulatory framework for technological cooperation among the member states
NEW DELHI, October 26. /TASS/. Russia is ready to share practical artificial intelligence solutions with BRICS countries, Alexander Sidyakin, head of the State Duma Committee on Digital Development and Artificial Intelligence, said.
The lawmaker is visiting India as part of a Russian parliamentary delegation led by State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, participating in the 12th BRICS International Parliamentary Forum.
"Russia is ready to share practical solutions in this field, and today, during the first part of our plenary session, our parliament speaker also addressed this issue," Sidyakin said at the forum’s second plenary session, titled "Innovation: The Role of Parliaments in Promoting a Human-Centered Approach to the Development of Innovation in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies."
In the lawmaker’s view, the key task for the parliaments of BRICS countries is to establish the most favorable possible regulatory framework for technological cooperation among the member states. "Yes, of course, all our countries need to ensure technological sovereignty, but this does not mean withdrawing into self-isolation. It means a country’s ability to independently manage critical infrastructure in order to protect citizens’ data and choose partners without external dictates," he added.
Earlier, Volodin proposed establishing a BRICS parliamentary expert council on artificial intelligence to exchange best legislative practices.
