Any changes that would lead to a reduction in expected additional revenues are highly unlikely, Alexey Sazanov said

DUSHANBE, October 19. /TASS/. The Russian Finance Ministry will discuss business proposals regarding the windfall tax mechanism with the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), State Secretary and Deputy Finance Ministry Alexey Sazanov told reporters.

"Revenues from the windfall tax are already budgeted. Therefore, we will certainly meet with our RSPP colleagues to hear their proposals. Ultimately, however, it will depend on the amount of additional revenue generated by their suggestions. It is too early to discuss this in detail," Sazanov said.

Sazanov noted that no separate meetings with specific industry representatives were planned.

"In any case, the revenues are already accounted for, and the relevant budget package has been submitted to the State Duma. Consequently, any changes that would lead to a reduction in expected additional revenues are highly unlikely," the deputy minister clarified.

"We need to wait for the year-end fertilizer prices for 2026 to calculate the exact figures," the deputy minister said, when asked about potential tax receipts from fertilizer producers.

The increase in projected revenues from gas excise duties and the mineral extraction tax (MET) on fertilizer producers is driven by exchange rate fluctuations and commodity benchmarks, Sazanov explained.
