MOSCOW, October 12. /TASS/. New supplies of Russian diesel fuel to global markets, including the US market, will help balance the difficult situation stemming from the Strait of Hormuz blocking and lower global refining capacity, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

"This is why today we have the opportunity to ensure additional supplies to global markets, including to the markets of the United States of America, to balance the situation, which is currently quite complex and is linked to problems in the Strait of Hormuz and to the overall reduction in global refining capacity because both infrastructure and logistics were disrupted," Novak said in an interview with Vesti.

He noted that the oil prices have almost doubled, and new supplies from Russia are already having an effect.

"These additional supplies from Russia to world markets will allow us to increase volumes and partially balance supply and demand. And we are already seeing this, including in the global diesel fuel markets, which adjusted downward by about 5-6%," he added.
