Russian presidential aide discusses training personnel for shipbuilding in Shanghai

Nikolay Patrushev is on a working visit to China from October 8 to 12

SHANGHAI, October 9. /TASS/. Russian Presidential Aide and Chairman of the Maritime Board Nikolay Patrushev visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University and discussed training personnel for shipbuilding with its management, the Maritime Board’s press service said.

"During the meeting with the university’s management, Nikolay Patrushev discussed cooperation with Russian universities and research institutes in training personnel for the shipbuilding and maritime sectors, as well as carrying out joint research," the press service said.

The university consistently ranks among the world’s top universities and is one of China’s nine most prestigious higher education institutions. It is considered a leading center for training specialists in engineering, medicine and management. The university has achieved particular success in training personnel for mechanical engineering, shipbuilding and ocean engineering.

Patrushev is on a working visit to China from October 8 to 12. The presidential aide is holding talks on Russian-Chinese cooperation in the maritime sector.

China is ready to use Patrushev’s visit as an opportunity to further strengthen its strategic dialogue with Russia, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said earlier.
