IT share in Russian GDP double over six years — PM
Russia holds a leading position in international digital interaction, Mikhail Mishustin stressed
MOSCOW, October 8. /TASS/. The share of information technology in Russia's gross domestic product (GDP) structure has doubled over the past six years, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said in his greeting to the participants and guests of the 2nd Global Digital Forum.
"Thanks to systemic efforts, the information technology industry is demonstrating high growth rates – over six years, the share of IT in the structure of Russia's gross domestic product has doubled," the prime minister said in the greeting posted on the Cabinet's website.
The development of artificial intelligence remains a priority area, which is already being applied in industry, healthcare, education, logistics, and other fields, Mishustin noted.
Russia holds a leading position in international digital interaction, the prime minister stressed. Export sales volumes of domestic IT products and services are growing annually, alongside the interest of foreign partners in Russian software, he added.
"I am confident that this large-scale event will remain an influential discussing platform for constructive dialogue, current issues regarding the application of digital solutions in key economic sectors, the creation and implementation of artificial intelligence-based developments, digital platforms, and the training of qualified personnel," the prime minister stressed.
