TOKYO, October 7. /TASS/. Panasonic plans to develop humanoid robots for use on production lines and in warehouses, said Akira Sakakibara, the chief artificial intelligence officer of the Japanese company.

Robot production could begin as early as 2029 but the company's management "cannot disclose details" yet, Sakakibara told the Nikkei newspaper.

Panasonic has already started research operations and development of the artificial intelligence models, along with the technology base necessary to manufacture such robots.

The company's competitors, primarily in China, have taken the lead in humanoid robot production, the news outlet said. Panasonic hopes to resolve the main issue with these devices – the fire risks due to the batteries used in the robots.
