Russia's new car imports surge 25% to 301,000 units in January-September — Avtostat

MOSCOW, October 6. /TASS/. Imports of new passenger cars into Russia surged by 25% year-on-year in in January-September, reaching 301,000 units, according to a presentation by the Avtostat analytical agency at the CarX 26 forum.
Geely emerged as the market leader among brands in this segment, while the Mazda CX-5 topped the model rankings.
Meanwhile, used car imports grew by a modest 4% over the same period, totaling 334,300 units. Toyota remained the most sought-after brand in the pre-owned segment, with the Toyota Corolla leading among individual models.
China ranked as the top exporter of new vehicles to Russia, commanding a dominant 70.9% market share, followed by Kyrgyzstan at 18% and Belarus at 3.1%. In the used car market, Japan secured the top spot with a 57.5% share, while China (25.2%) and South Korea (7.6%) rounded out the top three.
