Putin estimates damage from strikes against Russian refineries at 1% of GDP

The Russian leader said the strikes were launched deliberately

MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. Russia has lost about 1% of its GDP from Ukrainian strikes against oil refineries, President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the 23rd meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club.

"They started striking refineries and announced the goal straightforward - to inflict damage to our economy. The goal was partly achieved because according to our estimates, we lost about 1% of the GDP. This was done deliberately, these are the civilian targets, against civilian targets. So they got a tit-for-tat response," the Russian leader said.
