MOSCOW, September 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended the authorization for foreign buyers to purchase Russian gas for rubles not only via Gazprombank specifically empowered for such operations but through other Russian banks also until April 1, 2027.

The authorization was to expire on October 1 of this year. The decree of the head of state comes into force from today.

The procedure of foreign buyers’ payments for Russian gas was updated amid sanctions imposed on Gazprombank by the United States. Before that moment, foreigners could convert foreign exchange into rubles in any bank but were still obliged then to transfer rubles received to an account of Russian gas supplier with Gazprombank.
