NEW YORK, September 25. /TASS/. Microsoft founder Bill Gates expressed the opinion that artificial intelligence technologies could trigger events resulting in the deaths of 1 billion people.

"AI is certainly powerful enough to drive events that, you know, cause a billion deaths," the philanthropist said in an interview with NBC, explaining that artificial intelligence could be used by people "with bad intentions."

On September 15, Gates called for the creation of an international organization to oversee AI during a podcast with The Times newspaper.
