MOSCOW, September 25. /TASS/. Russia’s container market grew by 6% year-on-year in January-August 2026 to 4.72 mln TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units), transportation group Fesco said.

"According to Fesco analysts’ estimates, the Russian container market totaled 4.72 mln TEU in January-August 2026, up 6% from the same period last year," the company said.

Fesco said import shipments increased by 16% to 2.03 mln TEU. Export shipments declined by 3% to 1.24 mln TEU. Domestic shipments rose by 3.4% to 1.06 mln TEU, while rail transit totaled 384,000 TEU.

"In August, the container market contracted by 0.9% compared with the same month last year," Fesco added.
