MOSCOW, September 22. /TASS/. Russia increased its exports of frozen pollock fillets to the European Union by 16% in volume terms and 44% in value terms between January and July 2026, solidifying its status as the largest supplier of the product to the EU, the Fish Union reported on Tuesday.

"Russian fish exports to the EU from January to July 2026 totaled 113,000 tonnes valued at $513 million, according to calculations by the Fish Union's analytical center based on Eurostat data. <…> As a result, Russia solidified its status as the largest supplier of frozen pollock fillets to the EU market, increasing its market share by weight from 44% to 51%," the statement said.

Meanwhile, Russian exports of frozen cod to the EU amounted to 6,300 tonnes worth $58 million, while frozen cod fillets totaled 6,400 tonnes worth $78 million. Frozen surimi exports reached 5,900 tonnes valued at $13.1 million.

The Fish Union also reported that exports of frozen herring resumed after a two-year hiatus, totaling 4,000 tonnes valued at $5 million.
