Donald Trump assumes that the Chinese leader will arrive in Washington on September 24
NEW YORK, September 17. /TASS/. Washington will not impose new tariffs on China before or during an expected visit of its leader, Xi Jinping, to the United States next week, Bloomberg said citing sources.
Bloomberg previously reported that the US intends to publish the results of a trade investigation, which recommends imposing additional tariffs of 7.5% on Chinese goods.
According to the agency, the publication was delayed for an unknown reason.
The size of the duties also remains unclear.
Washington has several times signaled publicly that it hopes for Xi’s return visit this fall. President Donald Trump visited Beijing on May 14-15. He assumes that the Chinese leader will arrive in Washington on September 24.
