Transport capacity of Northern Sea Route to reach 45 mln tons by year-end — governor

MOSCOW, August 24. /TASS/. The transport capacity of the Northern Sea Route (NSR) will reach 45 mln tons by the end of 2026, Governor of the Murmansk Region, Chairman of the State Council Commission on the Northern Sea Route and the Arctic Andrey Chibis told TASS.

"Taking into account the newly constructed railways and the operational Lavna port, the Northern Sea Route’s transport capacity will reach 45 mln tons by the end of this year," he said.

A distinct component of the development of the Murmansk transport hub’s logistics will be incorporated into the comprehensive project for the development of the Arctic and the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor, Chibis added.
