Trade and economic cooperation between Russia and China demonstrates great resilience even amid adverse external factors, Russian and Chinese ambassadors to Japan, Nikolay Nozdrev and Wu Jianghao, said in a joint article published by their respective diplomatic missions in Tokyo.

"Trade and economic cooperation between Russia and China demonstrates high resilience and momentum even in the face of adverse external factors," they said, adding that one of priorities of the economic partnership is "ensuring robust protection of bilateral cooperation against negative external impacts."

Trade turnover between the two nations grew more than thirtyfold over the past 25 years, consistently exceeding the $200 bln mark for several consecutive years, the diplomats noted. "The parties intend to further develop this cooperation in accordance with long-term strategic documents, primarily the Plan for the Russian-Chinese economic cooperation through 2030," they said. The agenda includes "the implementation of large-scale joint projects in energy, industry, space, agriculture, transport, and logistics," the Russian and Chinese envoys said, adding that "digital innovations and artificial intelligence technologies, which are becoming a key area for joint efforts," open up additional opportunities for the development of trade and economic relations between Moscow and Beijing.
