MOSCOW, July 29. /TASS/. Russia's uranium processing for Brazil will increase by 25% under a supplementary agreement signed by the parties in June 2026, state nuclear corporation Rosatom told the Izvestia newspaper.

"It is important to note that in June 2026, the parties signed a supplementary agreement, increasing the volume of this contract by 25%. This shows that cooperation is not only continuing but is gradually expanding," a Rosatom spokesperson explained to the newspaper.

A new milestone in cooperation between the two countries was reached in 2025, when Rosatom won an open tender for the conversion and enrichment of uranium mined at the Caetite deposit in Bahia state.

Earlier, Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov told a meeting of the Russian-Brazilian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation that Russia sees prospects for building additional nuclear power units in Brazil, adding that the two countries are negotiating a new nuclear energy cooperation agreement.
