The Central Bank added that any freeze of Russians’ deposit is impossible in any conditions
ST. PETERSBURG, July 3. /TASS/. The monetary policy cannot ensure predetermined parameters of economic growth, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia Alexey Zabotkin said on the air with RBC Radio.
"We believe it is absolutely inappropriate, considering that the monetary policy cannot provide for predetermined parameters of economic growth in any way," he said, responding to a question about the possibility of expanding the mandate of the Central Bank to allow for GDP targeting.
Any freeze of Russians’ deposit is absurd and impossible in any conditions, the deputy governor said.
"In no way," he stressed. "This is so absurd. It seems that the most absurd theories are the longest to die out," Zabotkin noted.
