Sales of new passenger cars, LCVs in Russia gain 27% in June to 118,000 units — AEB

In the first six months of 2026, sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increased by 10% compared to the same period in 2025, totaling 600,844 units

MOSCOW, July 3. /TASS/. Sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV) in Russia increased by 27.5% in June 2026 year-on-year to 118,000 units, the Automobile Manufacturers’ Committee of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) reported, citing information provided by PPC JSC (Passport Industrial Consulting, a joint venture of Autostat and Electronic Passport operator).

"According to data provided by PPC, the market size in June 2026 was 118,044 units, which is 27.5% higher than in June last year. In the first six months of 2026, sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increased by 10% compared to the same period in 2025, totaling 600,844 units," the report said.

According to Chairman of the Automobile Manufacturers Committee Alexey Kalitsev, the first half of 2026 was "more stable" compared to the significant market decline experienced in 2025, with the market demonstrating moderate growth.

"Overall, the market situation remains unpredictable and sensitive to changes in the macroeconomic environment and regulatory policy. Therefore, we maintain our full-year market forecast at 1.4 million vehicles sold," he noted.
