According to estimates from experts specializing in commodity markets, oil reserves in the country reached 104 million barrels by the end of June

NEW DELHI, July 3. /TASS/. Oil reserves in India have been almost fully restored and approached the maximum recorded this year, Times Now TV channel reported, citing data from the analytical company Kpler.

According to estimates from experts specializing in commodity markets, oil reserves in the country reached 104 million barrels by the end of June, much above the figure of 90.5 million barrels recorded at the end of April. These figures account for strategic oil reserves, inventories at refineries, and commercial inventories but do not include oil in pipelines and cargoes that have not yet been delivered to India.

The increase occurred due to a rise in imports, which allowed for replenishing reserves that had sharply decreased in the second quarter amid geopolitical tensions due to events in the Middle East. By the time the crisis began, India had sufficiently large oil reserves at the level of 107 million barrels. This was the highest figure as of the end of the month for the previous 12 months.

Reserves at present are sufficient to meet domestic demand for approximately 21 days, considering that India's average daily oil consumption is about 5 million barrels.
