Russia, Belarus implement 26 import substitution projects in high-tech sectors — Putin

The Russian president mentioned the production of mining equipment in the Moscow Region, machine tool components in Novosibirsk, and tractor manufacturing in Tatarstan

MINSK/MOSCOW, June 26. /TASS/. Moscow and Minsk are implementing 26 import substitution projects in the high-tech sector, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a video address to the Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus.

"The regions are closely involved in the implementation of 26 joint import substitution projects in high-tech sectors," the Russian president said.

Among such projects, he listed the production of mining equipment in the Moscow Region, machine tool components in Novosibirsk, and tractor manufacturing in Tatarstan.

Putin also noted that "industrial cooperation has been established between Belarusian civil aviation plants and the interregional cluster of the Irkutsk, Ulyanovsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Voronezh regions, which is engaged in the production of MC-21 and SSJ-100 airliners."

"Design bureaus in the Sverdlovsk and Brest regions are involved in the Osvey light multipurpose aircraft project," the head of state continued. "Leading Belarusian plants Integral and Planar supply components for electronics manufacturing in Tatarstan, as well as the Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow regions," he noted.

"Companies from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Minsk have established effective cooperation chains for the development of optical devices and photonics equipment for communications, data transmission, and information systems," Putin added.
