The meeting of the joint Russian-Thai commission on bilateral cooperation is scheduled for August, Executive Director of the Russian-Thai Business Council Vladimir Kovalyov told TASS following the Russia-ASEAN summit, adding that the conclusion of an investment protection agreement will be discussed.

"The meeting of the intergovernmental commission on cooperation between Russia and Thailand is planned for August of this year," with the conclusion of an investment protection agreement on the agenda, he said.

"It is crucial to establish an infrastructure, a legal framework, for the protection of mutual investments," the official said, adding that "this issue is currently under discussion, as are matters regarding the conclusion of an investment protection agreement." "As the Russian-Thai Business Council, we have prepared a consolidated business position on this issue, and this was voiced by Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov. The ministry is currently actively working on this document," Kovalyov explained.
