Second Russian-Thai Investment Forum to be held in Bangkok — business council head
Vladimir Kovalyov said that last year's forum took place in Phuket and drew over 1,100 in-person participants, while the total estimated value of the projects discussed exceeded $3 billion
MOSCOW, June 25. /TASS/. The second Russian-Thai Investment Forum is scheduled to be held in Bangkok in late October, Executive Director of the Russian-Thai Business Council Vladimir Kovalyov said in an interview with TASS following the Russia-ASEAN summit.
"Cooperation in medicine and medical technology was also discussed on the sidelines of the [Russia-ASEAN] forum. There is interest on both sides. It is precisely to implement such projects, to turn them into reality, that we hold the annual Russian-Thai Investment Forum. Last year the forum took place in Phuket and drew over 1,100 in-person participants, while the total estimated value of the projects discussed exceeded $3 billion," he said.
"This year we also plan to hold a second investment forum in Bangkok in late October. We were very pleased that the Prime Minister of Thailand mentioned from the business forum stage that he was aware of this event. It has generated a certain investment momentum between the two countries," Kovalyov added.
Russia and Thailand will review the results of the past year’s joint projects and outline new prospects within this institutional framework, he noted.
