Kremlin announces appointment of Russia's new business ombudsman

Alexander Shokhin earlier met with President Vladimir Putin and presented his proposals for modernizing the office of the Commissioner for the Protection of Entrepreneurs' Rights

MOSCOW, May 26. /TASS/. Alexander Shokhin, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), will become the new Commissioner for the Protection of Entrepreneurs' Rights in Russia, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

Earlier today, Shokhin met with President Vladimir Putin and presented his proposals for modernizing the office of the Commissioner for the Protection of Entrepreneurs' Rights. Putin endorsed them.

"Judging by the results of this conversation, we can already say that Alexander Shokhin will become the new Commissioner for Entrepreneurs' Rights, while retaining his position as President of the RSPP," the Kremlin spokesman said.
