Russia develops over 60 drone application scenarios for economy — Industry Ministry
According to Vasily Shpak, the use of drones helps save time in assessing crop conditions and the impact of fertilizers and crop treatment
MOSCOW, May 22. /TASS/. More than 60 scenarios for the use of unmanned aerial systems in the economy, including in agriculture, have already been developed in Russia, Russian Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Vasily Shpak said in an interview with Vesti.
"More than 60 scenarios for the use of unmanned aerial systems for production purposes have already been developed," he said.
Shpak stressed that work is being carried out together with the Federal Center for Unmanned Aerial Systems.
According to Shpak, the use of drones helps save time in assessing crop conditions and the impact of fertilizers and crop treatment.
"Thanks to cameras, it is possible to see exactly where plants are under stress, where weeds are located and where pests are present. As a result, chemicals and fertilizers are applied not across the entire hectare, but precisely where needed. On the one hand, this significantly improves the efficiency of agricultural operations. On the other hand, it greatly saves time because if, for example, locusts land on your field, you do not have a day or two to process it. You must take prompt measures to save your harvest," he noted.
In addition, drones are capable of collecting large volumes of data, including photo, video and multispectral imagery.
